TAKE TWO # 3

Howdy folks!

Take Two!
Randy & myself (Wayne) will read comics we just wouldn't normally read.
We will then present to you 2 comics that we think are worthy of your attention.

The Marvels Project # 1of 8

Writer : Ed Brubaker
Artist : Steve Epting

The Marvels Project is a story that will chronicle the origin of the
Marvel universe. It takes place during the 1930s and 1940s and is
told from the perspective of Thomas Halloway,a doctor who is living
in New York during an important time in history. The story begins with
Thomas treating a mental patient who claims he has visited the future
and seen a world populated by super human beings.Thomas of course
doesn't believe him but will soon bear witness to the birth of the super
human. This issue also features some of your favorite golden age
Marvel characters such as Captain America,The Sub-Mariner,and
most importantly the original Human Torch (the android not the one
from the Fantastic four).

Ed Brubaker once again proves himself to be the best writer Marvel has
to offer. This issue is a good intro to the series and is thought provoking,
well put together, and features some great classic Marvel moments.I am
really looking forward to seeing where the story goes.If it's anything like
Brubaker's other work it should deliver, and if you haven't been reading
Captain America or DareDevil then you're missing out.If you get a chance
pick up the trades and see for yourself how good they are.

Steve Epting provides the art and has been working with Brubaker on
Captain America since the beginning of his run.Epting's art really comp-
liments the story and makes everything that much more believable.
These two are a great team and I hope they continue working together
for many years to come.

So, if you're a fan of their work on Captain America or if you're curious
about the history of Marvel's golden age characters then I recommend
you buy this book.
